I am going to have to ask Mariel Hemingway about this one, but I recently found a product at my local grocery store called Agave syrup. I bought it because it is an all natural product, that apparently has little effect on the glycemic index. I tried it on my yogurt and it is really good-not as sweet as maple syrup but it reminds me of that. It is, first of all, a syrup, at least the product I bought is, but I think you can get Agave sweetener in other forms. And it is in fact, sweet. I tried stevia recently and thought I had accidentally eaten rat poison. It was so bitter, I have no idea how people eat it and it is processed anyway so I am sticking with my Agave as a sugar alternative. Has anyone else tried this?
