Join Rachael’s #SantaPaws2015 & Help Pets in Need

Rachael’s counting down to Christmas, and it couldn’t be paws-ibly be for a better cause: Helping pets in need.

This giving season Rachael’s becoming “Santa Paws.” She’s teaming up with her animal-loving celebrity friends and letting each select a charity of their choice to receive a $10,000 donation from Rachael’s Rescue for her #SantaPaws2015 campaign.

Each day, a new celeb will reveal which charity is near and dear to their hearts, and Rachael will make her donation. Check back daily to see who’s been added to the lineup!

And, if you’re looking for ways to give back this holiday season, this list of wonderful charities will be a great place to start – make your donation, and share it on social with #SantaPaws2015.

Day 1: Drew and Jonathan Scott + The Search Dog Foundation

Drew and Jonathan Scott (you might call them The Property Brothers!) chose the Search Dog Foundation as their charity. SDF partners rescued dogs with firefighters and trains them to find people buried alive in the wreckage of disasters.

Day 2: Katherine Heigl + The Jason Debus Heigl Foundation

Katherine Heigl selected the Jason Debus Heigl Foundation, named for her younger brother. Dedicated to animal advocacy, the foundation works to “eliminate the needless suffering inflicted on animals by human cruelty, indifference and ignorance.”

Joining in the giving spirit, Katherine upped the stakes!

And of course, made us laugh:

Day 3: Beth Behrs + Blue Apple Ranch

2 Broke Girls actress Beth Behrs got her beloved horse Belle from an amazing rescue called Blue Apple Ranch. The ranch provides support and lifelong care for at-risk horses (currently they’ve got 75!) while connecting them with people through innovative programs.

Day 3: Jane Lynch The Rescue Train

Comedian and actress Jane Lynch decided to give back to The Rescue Train, a non-profit organization that educates people on eliminating animal suffering through hands-on rescue work in Los Angeles. This doggy momma not only loves canines but cats too, having a house full of furry critters.

Day 4: Kat Dennings + North Shore Animal League

The North Shore Animal League is one of the largest animal rescue agencies in the country and has saved more than a million lives by working to increase adoptions, end animal cruelty, rescue more animals, and reduce euthanasia. It’s also Kat Dennings’ favorite charity!

Day 5: Chelsea Handler + The Hilaroo Foundation

Funny gal Chelsea Handler didn’t disappoint in her SantaPaws post, where she chose Hillary Swank’s Hilaroo Foundation. The foundation rescues and rehabilitates abandoned animals

Day 6: Whitney Cummings + Love Leo Rescue

A rescue dog owner herself, Whitney is a true advocate for adopting pets in need and giving them a loving home. Her non-profit of choice, Love Leo Recue, vows to help the underdog, and works to bring the faces of dogs in danger of euthanasia in contact with reputable owners.

Day 6: Lara Spencer + The Humane Society of New York

TV host Lara Spencer is a proud animal lover. Adopting both her dogs from animal shelters, she understands when animals in need need help.  She opted to help support The Humane Society, who gives animals veternary care seven days a week.

Day 6: Whoopi Goldberg + Main Line Animal Rescue

Whoopi Goldberg’s charity of choice, Main Line Animal Rescue, prides itself on being a key voice in the battle against puppy mills. Its beautiful facility hosts more than 400 volunteers, where dogs, cats and rabbits from overcrowded shelters are taken in and given medical care, rehabilitation, and more.

Perez Hilton + America’s Vet Dogs

Perez Hilton’s charity of choice, America’s Vet Dogs, provides guide and service dogs for veterans of both the armed forces and first responders, including fire, police and emergency medical personnel. Whether for individuals who are blind or have low vision; have suffered a loss of hearing; lost a limb or have other physical disabilities; or even experiencing PTSD, the non-profit helps create physical and emotional support to help vets lead better lives.

Day 10: Andy Grammer + AdoptAPet.com

Andy Grammer – and his pup Lucy – made their donation to AdoptAPet.com, the largest non-profit pet adoption website in North America. AdoptAPet is also the organization behind one of Andy’s favorite pet shops, Bark N’ Bitches, the first humane pet stores in Los Angeles that helps abandoned pets find forever homes.

Day 11: Sharon Osbourne + Ace of Hearts Dog Rescue

Sharon Osbourne’s charity of choice, Ace of Hearts Dog Rescue, has a unique way of helping animals. They rescue pets directly from shelters on the day they are to be euthanized from various Los Angeles shelters. The animals are then placed in loving homes.

Check back tomorrow for more updates!
