Hi Kids,
I hope everyone is having a great new year! I am busy taping my new show for Food Network (I got to try snowboarding this weekend!) and taping the day time TV show (check in out on 1/31-we’re on ice), but I am most excited about a special project that is going to launch in April. Following our mission at Yum-o! to help families develop healthy relationships with food and cooking, we are coming out with a new cookbook. The Yum-o! Family Cookbook is a collection of recipes that are good and go for you so you and your family can prepare delicious meals together and teach your kids good eating habits along the way. These recipes are designed to be prepared by kids and adults so you guys can get in the kitchen and have some fun…together. And as an added bonus, you’re going to see some recipes that were sent to us from kids too, which is just too cool. Some of these guys are really itty bitty and it just warms my heart that they are in there making up good recipes.
So keep an eye out for the book in April, but in the meantime, we’ll have fun contests and giveaways before then.

Ciao!
Rach
Check out the Yum-o! organization.
Note: Rachael’s proceeds from the Yum-o! Family Cookbook will be donated to the Yum-o! organization.

Hi Rachael: This as nothing to do with cooking.(I do love your receipes). I was wathching your show Mon. the 28th. My heart went out to the Kidney Transplant. I myself know how the husband s feel and my husband knows how the wifes feel. Rick (my husband) under went a Liver Transplant a year ago Nov. 27, 2006. We were sooo blessed the way things went. It took alot of strong bonding to go through a ordeal like they went through. He is doing real good (sometimes). The donors have gotten in contact with him, and wants to meet him. This will be exciting and probably sad at the same time. I just wanted to write a letter to say the couples have alot of courage and may God Bless. Thank you Robin Bates

New family cook book sounds perfect! My 6 year old daughter loves you, been watching you since she was 3. I got her one of your little cook books, she loves to pick out recipes to do with us. Cant wait for Yum-O!!! We go to Price Chopper and she STILL refers to it as “The Rachel Ray Store”. She never forgets anything, how long has it been since you did those commericals??? Thanks for being great and speedy!

Hi again Rach-
I just watched your air show- I just quit smoking last summer after I had a mild heat attack- being only 48 years old- it scared me so much that I quit smoking that night- I was lucky it was only a warning - no damage suffered to my heart=
So I am grateful for the warning to take back the control of my life again.
Your segment on smoking today - hit home for me - so I had to write- good luck to all who plan on or who are trying to quit smoking. Do it for you-
Debi

Your guest that appeared on your show about buying the “right” floweres. Was in my opinion very spoiled. She should be happy that her man brings her flowers. And not turn up her nose and be cocky about exactly what kind she wants. I was raised and believe you should be thankful for what you get. I do not care where my husband buys floweres at or what kind they are. Just the fact he was thinking of me means sooo much more. (episode aired January 30th,2008)
01.30.08 @ 11:31 am
This Valentine’s Day really want to make the heart-shaped chicken cutlets with the yummy pasta, but the guy I’m dating can’t eat gluten. What? I know! What should I do? This is serious.
01.30.08 @ 3:42 pm
Rachel,
I am in your ever growing list of fans. I love your daytime show. We get to see a little more of the humanitarian side of Rachel Ray. And I love how you inspire me and others to get out and help where we can. That topped with your awesome recipes! How can any woman go wrong? Thanks Rachel.
01.30.08 @ 4:16 pm
Hey Rach I have your cookbook 2,4,6,8 and I love it but I am what you call a visual learner and I thought I would give you an idea for a new cookbook. I think you should take a picture of the finished reciepe so people like me can go through it and decide what looks good and cook it. Thanks
01.30.08 @ 5:04 pm
I love so many of your recipes. I have a question about andouille sausage, what is it? I can’t find it or chorizo in any of my grocery stores and we do not have a great store like Whole foods in our city. Is their something else I could use instead of andouille sausage and chorizo. I watch your show every day and find it to be very informational and entertaining!!
Thank you,

Can I start off by saying thank you for your Yum-o recipes they are great for a woman like me who needs to like what she is eating while she loses weight! The other thing I like about your recipes is that they are quick which is great for a culinary ADD woman like myself. Keep up the fanfrickentabulous work!
01.31.08 @ 1:32 pm
Yum-o rocks, Rach! My husband and I are fortunate enough to have been brought up by Italians and Frenchmen who, as you know, love food and know what to do with it! We established healthy eating habits at young ages and are doing the same for our 12 year old daughter and 4 year old son. I work from home - my kitchen doubles as office space, with my laptop (and stovetop!) always going. My 4 year old is still home with me other than a couple of hours at preschool and LOVES to help out. He watches you on the Food Network with me and the first time I got really excited about one of your recipes, I said, “OK, little chef - let’s get cooking!” and he said, “OK, Mom! How about you be Rachel and I be Ray!” He has his own apron, chef’s hat and oven mitts and truly thinks he’s a pro! I almost sent you a great pic - him in his cooking gear with nothing else but his underwear on - too funny but didn’t know if I’d offend.
Anywho, keep up the good work in all that you do. My daughter is inspired and loves to make fancy sandwiches on snow days to go around and drop off at various shelters in our city in her own effort to help stop hunger and promote healthy eating - truly good, she is!
Kudos, Rach!

Hi Rachel! You Rock girl.
I have to share with you, my mom is Italian also and I grew up with all those great food influences. Like how to make a killer spaghetti sauce. It took me years to perfect. I would love to see you do some kind of tribute to spaghetti sauce!
I am a journalist and was a reporter, copywriter, correspondent etc.. for 12 years. Now I work from home doing book reviews for kids (love it) as I have a wonderful boy who just turned 4. My dream job would be to work for your magazine!!!! I so have the resume! And did I mention I am a Virgo too!!! CALL ME IF YOU EVER COME TO SAN FRANCISCO. I would love to work for you!
PS My mom gave me a subscription to your mag when it first came out. That’s how I got hooked! LOVE IT and all the cool guests you seem to handle so well. (That is a Virgo thing!)

Hi Rachel!
I am so addicted to ur show , its not funny. Anyway! I am in South Africa and have been here for the past 8 months and I watch ur show here as well. I miss a whole lot of ur show, foodnetwork etc. They do have BBC food but hmmm its not the same. I recently went to Thailand and learnt a lot on their cooking methods and I was amazed with ingredients, spices, utensils etc. You, I have to say is the one of my best idols and I am hooked on all of ur shows. I am a gr8 cook as well and am working on opening my new restuarant here in South Africa. Its really different here but very beautiful, I have to say. I even picked up their accent. I sound a little like Nigela hehehehhehe. Wish U cud write to me directly so I can share more of my food experience from here. Or maybe U should visit us here in Sunny South Africa.
02.01.08 @ 12:21 pm
Hi Rachel!
I watch your show everyday but we see you with a 3 month delay so I am not up to date with your recipes and it´s a bit difficult tofollow them becouse if I miss the name of the dish it´s hard to find the right one. I love your show but I wish I could see it on the net in somewhat real time so I could make more of the great foods you make. Lots of love from Nina In Sweden
02.01.08 @ 12:28 pm
Amy, I’m with you. I thought the segment on buying the ‘right’ flowers was petty. I think these women need to get a grip on reality. When he’s dead and gone, will she remember that he bought the ‘wrong’ flowers? I am a widow and would love to have my husband here to give me flowers from my own garden or no flowers at all. Believe me, the right flowers ARE NOT IMPORTANT. Perhaps the women need to grow up.
02.01.08 @ 4:06 pm
Hi Rach, this is not about the things on here, but I wanted to let you know that I watch your show everyday with my mom and we just love you and the show. I was in charge of the family dinner’s seeing how my dad pasted away, well I learned how to make gravy without lumps and how to keep the ham warm and stuff like that, so Thanksgiving went well. My mom got me your cookware set for Christmas and again dinner was GREAT. Now all I need to do is get your knives and other stuff and I’ll be set. I just wanted to say Thank’s and your products are on my wish list for my birthday, Easter and any other gift holiday, your stuff rock’s, Keep smileing and have a great year.
02.01.08 @ 5:02 pm
I was happy to hear at least one of yhe ladies was on the road to not smoking. After being a smoker for over 20 years, I stopped cold turkey after my mother died in 2003.
Good luck to all those others out there trying to quit.
02.01.08 @ 5:07 pm

Hey Rach,
My oldest son is 7 and in first grade. He discovered cooking one day while spending time with his Great Grandma this last summer. They made stew together. Ever since he wants to be in the kitchen. We gave him an apron and his own oven glove and pot holders for Chirstmas. Now he has ambitions of being a chef and having a restaurant. He even wants to create menus. He loves to watch you cook. I am thrilled about the Yum-O cook book, my family is trying very hard to stay away from preprocessed foods and sometimes with kids finding recipies that you can actually get 7, 3, and 1 year olds to eat is a challenge. So I can’t wait to see what you have cooking..

Good Job. Rachael I wanted to say that I would like to me you someday but, if that doesn’t happen I would just like to say how much enjoy your TV show. I have watched every show. I have learned and got so many good tips. It is a show that has something for everyone! You seem to be so grounded in your life and who you are. I like that you can have so many different things and people on your show and there isn’t any judgements or slambing going on. You seem to bring that into all you do. I hope that is you on and off the show. Cuz if it is you must be a happy and content person. Keep up the good work in hopes that you love what you do. I am interested in the YUM-O foundation and interested in learning more about it. And am looking forward to getting the new cook book. One more thing when I am grocery shopping I have had so many conversation that start with some cooking tips I have learned from you and it is so true that food brings people together.
God Bless you and your family,
Julie J, CO.

Rachael!
I do not know if you will even read this, but hey why not.
I think it is so great with what you’re doing with the YUM-O organization! Keep up the good work bud!
I watch your show everyday when I get home from school(I’m 15) and it pretty much completes my day :]
You have allowed me to enjoy cooking, and you let everyone see that cooking doesn’t always have to be stressful and is fun. & now I cook your recipes for my family all the time!
You are just an awesome person and I hope to meet you someday. You are one of my role models, for real. I hope you read this :]
Love,
Brianna

Hi Rachael!
I’m 16 years old and I love watching your show in the summer! I don’t plan on being a cook when I grow up but I think it’s a really fun hobby! I was wondering if you have any cookbooks that include pictures of each of the recipes? I have your one cookbook “365-No Repeats” which I really like. Thanks! I would love to hear back from you!
Jenna

Hi Rach,
I just love all of your shows. You are always so bubbly and happy, I am sure you must not always feel that way but it never shows. I have cooked most of my life and I am trying a bunch of new recipes that I have created. Can you give me any advice on how to get a cook book published? Thanks Rachael, I appreciate any help you could give.

Hi! Love your show. I’m a Children’s and Youth director and my kiddos love you too!
The youth are going to the Ronald Mcdonald House on this Sunday and I’m surfing your site (I know last minute for Sunday Feb 10th!)for some ideas. The youth would love to be making a Rachel recipe!
We have to prepare some meals (have to be not spicy, and easy to freeze) for the families at the house. The house manager suggested comfort foods? Also the meals have to be prepared at the house, and it will be teenagers making the meal, so it needs to be easy. And we’re a youth group so the meals need to be reasonable! I need some HELP!

My daughter (Jolene) and I love to watch you cook. She is 6 yrs. old and you caught her eye 2-3 years ago. She was cutting up mushrooms in the kitchen and wanted Rachael Ray on the TV so she could cook like you. My question is if you have suggestions for receipts without garlic, spicyness or beef. I have several problems with my stomach & digestion that I am limited to food (stinks). I know this will be tough since onion, garlic and peppers go into all your meals. I basically eat Pork, Chicken/Turkey, Ham or Fish.
02.04.08 @ 8:46 pm
I THINK YOU SHOULD TEACH HOW TO LAUGH AND SMILE TO ALL THE WORLD
02.04.08 @ 10:04 pm
I, too, agree with Amy about the flowers…My husband passed away just short of a year ago and I only wish I could still receive that pot of tulips, the roses, whatever struck his fancy that day!! As for the ones trying to quit smoking…I quit when I found out my husband had lung cancer. If you could only see how bad it is in the end, you would quit in a heartbeat! Good luck to all of you in your goal! Will, I love you and miss you dearly!!
02.04.08 @ 10:08 pm
Hey Rachel, your food is totally awesome. I especially loved that philly cheesesteak pizza. Total guy food when watching a good game. You make it all seem so easy, but it sure is hard to find the right ingredients when trying to emulate your recipes. It’s also cool to see the guests and celebrities appear besides the recipes and stuff.
I just gotta say, you have without a doubt, the nicest ass on primetime TV… especially whenever yer in a geat pair of jeans. Do you work out?
02.05.08 @ 6:31 am

I noticed that the yum-o knife and glove are discontinued. I was hoping to purchase this set for my 2 kids. Will there be a simalar product coming out in the near future? Is there any way I can get a set of these still? Please help me figure out something to do.
Thanks so much

Love your show. You need to have Al Roker for a guest sometime. You’ll have some fun with him.
Your jewlry always looks good with whatever you wear. Is each piece made for the outfit?
If so, you have a wonderful designer.
02.05.08 @ 4:42 pm
Hey Rachael!
I watch your show all the time and love all the little bowls and stuff that you use. My boyfriend got me some of your products for Christmas and I absolutly love them. The reason why I’m writing is because I’ve seen you use a bowl a few times that I would really like to have myself. It’s your orange bowl with white stripes on it and I like to call it the Whataburger bowl. I grew up in Corpus Christi, Texas, which is the home of the Whataburger company, and now that I’m away at university I like your bowl because it reminds me of a part of home. Could you tell me if there’s a place that I could find the bowl or order it online. Thanks!

I’m the only granddaughter who has them. There in the attic I know it.The sad thing about it, is her Great-Nona gave them to her to pass on. Please if you can help me. Thank you.

I was actually cooking this mean noodle salad for the family and I use a bowl for my garbage, and my mom ask if I watched your show today and I said, “No,why?” she said because you use a bowl for your garbage too. So I felt good when I thought of the same thing you did. Im so excited for your new book! Keep me posted.

Hi Rach.
I watched the last episode of The Biggest Loser Couples on NBC the other night for the first time, and there is a girl on there who is a spitting image of you… it’s really freaky. Of course, she’s heavier than you, hence the show, but I would love to see the two of you side by side….
There are a couple pics of her (Brittany) on their website, but there’s even more of a resemblance in her face if you watch the show.

I forgot to tell you that I use a lot of your recipes for my husband. They are easy and fast. He even eats pasta. And your stoups are a hit (he hates soup)! They adapt easily to his diet and I have lost weight too (I’ve gone from 310 to 272) and look forward to more. Thanks for all you’ve done for all of us. I am addicted to all your shows and my hudband loves to watch you on food channel.

Just when I thought there couldn’t possibly be another great RR cookbook! You’ve done it again! I can’t wait for this one! My family has been trying to eat healthier meals. No more fast food! Yay!! My husband lost 85 pounds in about 12 weeks. Our oldest daughter has lost about 40lbs in about a year and a half. I get stuck sometimes when it comes to ideas for new recipes and we wind up eating the same things over and over. I need fresh ideas! Thanks, Rachael!!
02.13.08 @ 11:18 am
Whats coming up in March??? The BIG new idea, can you tell me more? See ya around, keep up the superb work… Sincerely Daniel

I was so disappointed to read in this morning’s SA Express that you were in San Antonio. I own Fridas Mexican & Latin Cuisine and wish you had stopped by for our tortilla soup. It was rated “critic’s choice” in SA and is different than anything you have presented. It appears from the newspaper article you focused on the same old “tex-mex” restaurant. Too bad! You would have loved Fridas latin fare. You can still “visit” us at http://www.fridas-sa.com. Maybe we will see you next time!
buen provecho! Cathy

Hi Rach,
My name is Pier from Glen Burnie Maryland. I am the mother of 4 beautiful girls ranging in age of 17 to 6 years.
The girls and I have a few health issues, so I’m trying to cook healthy meals for us. 4 out of the 6 of us, if you include my husband need to loose a lot of weight. I myself need to loose about 200 lbs if I am to stay around for my kids. Surgery is out of the question because we have no health insurance that covers my husband and myself. So we are trying to do it by changing our eating habbits.
We have switched to whole wheat pastas, but there is a limited varity around here. We like things like the no boil lasagna noodles or linguini and fetuccini. However around here we only have rotini, penne, egg noodles, macaroni, and spaghetti. So we need some ideas on how to get a better variety.
Also, we would like you to pass our information to Bob Green to see if he could offer some helpful information. Like I said, I need to loose about 200 pounds. I have high blood pressure, but can’t afford medications. So to loose weight would really help because it would help control my blood pressure. My 17 yr old daughter has a severe heart condition. She has had it all her life. She needs to loose about 100 lbs. My husband, he is healthy, but we want to keep him that way. He needs to loose about 100 lbs also. Lastly, the youngest child is already showing signs of my body type. She needs to learn better ways of controlling her weight and she is only 6.
We really need some help. I really need some help. I want my family healthy so that even if nothing can be done to help me, they will at least have a better chance than I gave myself. I don’t blame any one for my weight issues but myself. I also blame myself for their weight issues. I feel I let them down by not being a better example. This is why I’m reaching out to try to rectify this for them now.
I admire you so much because you seem so down to earth. Your cooking style is so similar to mine. You have the same policy I do, Make it quick, make it good. So if you have any Ideas please send them our way.
Sincerely,
Pier Flack

Rachel-
Just wanted to tell you how much I have loved the Yum-O cookbook. My Dad bought it for me for Christmas and I think i’ve made dinner out of it 4-5 times a week ever since. My kids and husband love the recipes and I am learning more and more ways to liven up mealtime. We have a tradition of asking “what good thing happened to you today” of each person at the table. I’m getting a lot of “My good thing is tonight’s dinner”. Thank you very much! (oh and the open face turkey sammies are my dad’s new favorite!)
02.14.08 @ 11:12 am
Hi Rachael, I just love watching your shows, all of them!! You are the favorite for my whole family. We all love you! My niece and namesake, actually got to meet you in CA at your book signing. I am hoping that someday, for a future book signing, you will mabe come to New Hampshire!! Please!!!! I would love nothing more than to meet you. I bought my mother a bunch of your cook books for christmas a couple years ago, and I ahve the kids cookbook to use when nieces and nepohews visit. I am looking forward to your new book in april. I am trying so hard to lose weight right now, for my health. I am unfortunately obese and am working so very hard. But i am finding it hard to find things I like, that are good for me to eat. I am a very picky eater, so its really difficult. I have lost 32 lbs so far( its been 5 months), but as I said, it is hard to find things to eat. any ideas would be extremely appreciated.
You keep up the good work sweetie, you are by far the greatest. I live for your shows every day!! thank you for bringing so much joy to my home!! You ROCK!!!!!!!!
02.15.08 @ 11:31 am
Hi Rach
As soon as I saw your show where you made the chicken cutlets and spegetti I knew that I wanted to make that. So I did - for my family for Valentines Day. They loved it! It was a great hit! “This was the best chicken I have ever had” were the comments that I got. Thanks for the great recipe.
Also, I wanted to know if you had any ideas on a special something I could do for my husband for our 10th anniversary. It is on April 18th and I really wanted to do something special. It is already going to be a difficult day because it is also the 1 year anniversary of my father-in-laws self inflicted death. Yes, on our anniversary - not a very good way to celebrate. So this year I would like to do something nice, something to celebrate us. Anything you could suggest would be a great help.
Thanks,
Angela

Dear Rachael,
My name is Wanda. I love to have your show on even if it’s just to hear your voice. It makes me feel comfortable when I’m at home. You are very entertaining. I hope you’re on for a long time. My husband is a huge fan of Iris Chacon a Puertorican vedette. She is known as La Bomba de America. It would be awesome if you could invite her to your show and have her say Hi! to Raymond on the air. He would flip out. Write me back please. Thanks.

Hi,
I just wanted to say thank you for introducing me to herbs and spices. I had not a clue how to cook and I bought your book 30-Minute Meals and tonight I made the Salisbury Steak and Smashed Potatoes and Spinach. I also made the dessert dish Ginger Peach Cobbler. My fiancee and I have 6 kids but I made this for him and myself for dinner since all the kids were gone. He said it was the best meal I ever made for him and he loved it. Thanks for sparking my interest in better cooking and for making my man very happy!!
I look forward to making more of your delicious recipes!!

Hey Rachael. I was just watching your show and wanted to let you know how much you have taught me. I am over 50 and have never really cooked and when I have, it was always with oils that had lots of fat. Since I started using EVOO more, I am actually getting a better flavor and am losing some weight. (not enough yet)
I was going to give you a tip which I’m sure you already know, but I’ll send it on anyway. I have found that if I want to make kabobs, I take two bottles of Italian Dressing and soak potatoes and onions in it for about 12 hours. The potatoes and onions soak up the flavor and when I’m ready to cook them, they cook as fast as the meat I am using. An hour before I put the potatoes, onion, and meat on the kabab stick, I put some small tomatoes in with the potatoes and onions and let them soak a little also. The meal can be ready in as little as 20 minutes depending on the meat chosen for kabobs.
I love your show.

I have thought about a tummy tuck many times over the past couple of years. I just can’t seem to lose my baby fat from having kids. I also have a condition which is called metabolic syndrome which can lead to diabetes. With this condition you do have more belly fat. Just this morning I was feeling disgusted with my belly, thinking of a tummy tuck again, wishing I had the guts and the money to do it. Your show today with the Fat Belly diet couldn’t of aired at a better time. I jumped on my computer and ordered it. I can’t wait for it to get here so I can try it. So many diets have failed and I have fingers crossed that this one will be different.
Anyways, thanks for your wonderful, fun and educational show. I watch it everyday.
02.19.08 @ 9:39 pm
Hi Rach! I am excited about your Yum-O! cookbook! It will be a few years before my daughter can help me with the recipes though… shes only 4 months old! But my mother-in-law and I are going to buy one and cook things together with Leah when she gets old enough! Of course by then, you may have 2 or 3 editions of Yum-O! cookbooks!
Love the show, we watch it every day! And yes, she is only 4 months old, but I promise she watches! Its funny!!!
We will see you tomorrow at 10:00 am central time!

Hello Rach,
I have purchased and received as gifts your Cook Books and am looking forward to your next one. I would love to share with you a recipe I have come across that is Perfect for Mardi gras and is from the restaurant Galatoire`s. It is called Shrimp in Re`moulade Sauce and is a Salad. 4 stalks of celery, 4 green onions chopped, one small onion chopped, 3/4 cup italian flat leaf parsley, 1/2 c. red wine vinegar, 1/2 c. ketchup, 1/2 c. tomato puree, 1/2 c. Creole mustard, 1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce, 1 1/8 c. veggie oil, 2 tsp. paprika, 2lbs. Large peeled/deveined shrimp and 12 lettuce leaves.
Combine celery, both onions and parsely in food processor and Pulse til finely choped. Add the vinegar, ketchup, tomato puree, & Worcestershire sauce and process til well blended. Scrap down as you go. With food processor running drizzle in your oil until blended and Stir in your paprika. Transfer to jar or bowl and cover and put in frig for 6-8hrs/or overnight. When ready to use, stir the sauce, then pour over the shrimp and toss to coat. Serve ontop of lettuce leaves. Enjoy. P.S the Restaurant Galatoires was in New Orleans and is now in Baton Rouge.

I know my mom would be happy to see you in person…Any have Great Year and Thank You for being the person you are! Mahalo….
02.22.08 @ 12:59 pm
Rach,
My name is almost identical to yours (Rachel Raya) AND I look a little bit like you, so every time I meet someone new I end up having a conversation about you and about cooking (I aspire to be a good cook but have QUITE a way to go).
I am writing because I work at a hospital in Plano, Texas, and we are totally pumped today because we just found out that we won an Ivy Award for our food service! Most people don’t equate hospital food to GOOD food, but we have a fabulous executive chef and we were the only winner of this award in the entire Southwest this year! I am so excited!
I know that one of our main objectives, being a hospital, is to provide our patients and guests with HEALTHY, wonderful food, so I thought I would write you and see if you may be interested in having our chef on your show sometime! I know it is a longshot, but I am just so excited, so the sky is the limit!

Hi Rachael:
You had on Teri Hatcher & her daughter, you showed a knife and glove set for kids. I am unable to find it and I have a 9 year old son who loves to help me cook and he makes me extremely nervous when he cuts things. I think that knife and glove set would be great for him - please let me know where to get it and if its online the link would be great.
Thank you so very much.

Dear Rachel,
I worte this once but somehow I lost it in sending it but if it shows up please forgive the duplicate. Hope you are doing well. I love all your shows and have been watching them awhile now I love them and you. This is why I am writing you. You are a very pretty woman with a great personality and wit but you scare me sometimes when you cook with thos lose sleeves. As a mother and grandmother who cooks with her brood I am very aware of dangers in the kitchen and every time you cook with those lose floppy sleeves I cringe hoping and praying you won’t get too close to the open flames. I am sure there are others out there that worry about the same thing. I had to write you about this for your safety as well as my own piece of mind because I know if God forbid anything like that ever happened and I hadn’t at least warned you about it I would forever feel I should have done this. Take care. Happy cooking.
I Young

Hi Rachael- I just got your 30 minute meals cookbook 2 as a gift and I love it!! My husband and I have been cooking out of it for the past week. So far we have made your philly cheesesteak sandwiches, super sloppy joes, herb & chesse chicken tenders parmigiana w/ spaghetti, and tonight we made Country Captain Chicken w/ white and wild rice! What I love about your meals most is that they are filling, but I never feel like I am stuffed. I always feel like we are eating so healthy! I am going to go out and buy some cookware (I need bigger saute’ pans!) and I am going to look for more of your books! Keep cooking, we love your show too!
02.28.08 @ 1:18 pm
Hey Rachael!!
I love the Yum-O thing! I am a graduate student (and a stay-at-home mom). The day I found out I had to write a huge research paper you were talking about Yum-O on your show. It inspired me. My paper is about how the foods we eat affect our energy levels and therefore affect how students learn!
P.S. My 10-month-old son has to be your biggest little fan. He goes around points at the people he knows in pictures and makes a sound. When he sees the Rachael Ray Everyday magazine he does the same thing!
02.28.08 @ 3:49 pm

Rachael,
I watch your show every day. It is on our hard drive and each night it is the first thing I watch. I love all the topics your discuss. Wish I was closer to your show so that I could come and be in your audience. The new cookbook sounds great. I would love to see more vegetarian meals. You should come to Bozeman, Montana sometime. We have some good restaurants here for you to try.
Thanks,

Hi! I have been a huge fan for many, many years! I think it is so awesome that you started a blog, and I hope that you have time to read the comments!! My husband actually proposed to me during your show because that was our thing when we were dating… He would come over to my apartment, we would watch your show, and then we would cook together EVERY tuesday!! So cool! Anyway, I was watching your show today and a thought popped into my head… could be completely silly, but since this is an easy way to talk, I thought I would share.
Wouldn’t it be cool if they made a mold of your hand, and sold it like measuring cups, since, of course, you measure everything that way?
Sounds silly I know, but if I could have done that with my Siti’s (grandmother in lebanese) hands, I know my bread would taste as good as hers!
Just a thought! Love the show, and LOVE your recipes!!!
Sincerely, Tiffany

Rachel!!
I watch your show everyday with my mom! The only thing is that we cant make your food in 30 min.
She cooks along with the show (we TiVo them)…but the pasta on your show cooks so fast! Where can we get it? We spent all of yesterday researching it on the Google.

Rachel, these photos of you are gorgeous!!
We love and admire you so much. Your passion, energy, kindness, and view of life
make you a very special human being. I have 2 year old twins and they have been into you since they took interest in the television. They study you very hard. You have been an additional teacher of the english language in our home. You have fantastic enunciation(whew, big word) and connect so well with your audience.
My kids call you “Chel”. Your name is one of their very first words! They love to try new foods and pretend cook in their personal kitchen. Thank you for your beautiful example. I hope to meet you some day.
Many blessings to you, Rachel.

Hey Rachael. This has nothing to do with the cookbook, but I was wondering if you had any recipe ideas for a 10 year old picky eater. My son will not eat any vegetables except creamed potatoes. Any ideas? Thanks!

HEY RACH!!
I AM IN LOVE WITH YOUR SHOW AND YOUR PRODUCTS! This weekend was my birthday and I went on a hunt for your garbage bowl and tongs. I had no luck, but am still looking. I can’t order stuff online so I have to go actual store shopping.
I have two questions for you….
Are you going on a book tour?
Where can I get a YUM-O t-shirt?
I bought your stock in a box last night and I use your EVOO. Whatever will you come out with next?
Keep it up and keep smiling.
God bless you!

I am disabled and have all kinds of issues….plus a host of “eating ” issues…lactose intolerant, diabetic, thyroid and adrenal problems. When it comes too cooking a meal…a well balance goes out the window. Tell me…” is there a way to cook and not have to stand over the stove to get a well balanced meal?” Do you have quick meal plans or recipes for two, for a person like me. For I am fatigued all the time, plus cold, and find it very difficult to cook becasue fo my health. (But you cnat egt ehalthy if you cant eat right! I am dealing with Bronchitis or asthma also, so I get so stressed when I have to stand very long and I just find it hard to COOK. I am fortunate to have one meal a day. And usually it is because my husband cooks or my daughter brings me something shes cooked.(which is not too often) . Tell me what can I cook and enjoy it and not have to labor all day for? Because I dont have the strength to stand very long(less than 5 minutes and I have to sit or lay down to catch my breath. (I am not lazy, I am sick! And sick and tired of being sick, and I blame it on not having the strength to cook. (I have to lay down or sit now and then and I have the habit of burning stuff or I fall alseep during the process of cooking and my husband has to continue “watching the pot” and he usually is not much better than me at it! (I rely on my husband a lot to cook and half his meals leave a skinny minny waiting. My heart cant take his “appearances” but I would starve to death if it were not for his “hit and miss ” successes at making a meal out of whatever .Abd If I start a meal, my husband usually ends up “watching the pot” when I get fatigued. But his “watching the pot” is almost as bad as mine. Is there recipes for short quick well balanced meals that take less time to “cook”? I would appreciate a decent meal without having to go out to a restaurant. I like to be able to have a Meal withotu going to Taco Bell. I cant even maek a Taco right. But its the esasiets meal for me for I can make it in “steps”s that require less time and a meal you can prepare in spurts and small steps, but I cant make tacos every day. I would like meals that are decent and tasty meals that dont look or taste like Hash in a can? Something a little more appealing than beans and franks? If you ahev soem quicky meals liek your Philly pizza I can handle that. I will try it. Susana
03.05.08 @ 8:57 pm

Hi Rachel
we’re finally able to watch your show in Denmark, what fun :0)
Besides bringing back some of my favourite foods from the US you were actually cooking Danish food on the show I watched today. You were showing an “aebleskiver” pan, using it to make mini-flapjacks. At one point you said: I have no idea what aebleskiver is… and you were actually cooking them: an aebleskive is a Danish Christmas tradition, and translated the word means apple slices. The original recipe is:
2 cups of flour
½ tsp salt
2 tsp sugar
1 tsp cardemomme
1 tsp baking soda
Grated peel of 1 organic lemon
3 eggs
approx. 2 cups of buttermilk
Optional: sliced apple
butter for frying
Mix flour, salt, sugar, cardemomme, baking soda and grated lemon peel. Whisk the egg yolks with the buttermilk, and blend in the flour mix. Let the mixture rest half an hour. Whisk the eggwhites until stiff and gently fold them into the mixture.
Heat the aebleskive pan and use a dollop of melted butter in each hole. Fill the holes 2/3 with batter. Before turning the aebleskiver a slice apple can be added. Turn the aebleskive several times while baking. Serve piping hot with jam for dipping and sprinkled with sugar.
Enjoy :0)

Dear Rach,
I want my wife back. And to think she told me that you were somewhat loud and almost obnoxious. Since she has become ADDICTED to your show, both the 3:PM AND 6:PM, I have spent hours in the grocery store shopping for things that I didn’t even know were edible! Tonight we had turkey burgers with artichoke stuffed baked potato and sautéed mushrooms and garlic.
I’m all for change but after 10 years of marriage; to go from Russell Stouffer to Gourmet-a-la-RAY is a serious shock to the system. I even took pictures of tonight’s dinner because it looked so ‘foreign’ to me (and you’d have been so proud!).
Anyway, thanks for the great food and on second thought, wherever the old Bobbie Jean is, tell her I’ll write if I get the chance.
Your new BFF (best friend forever) – Chooch.
P.S. If your ever in Detroit, stop by – I have a new dice golf game I’m working on called GOLF1234. It’s a lot of fun. OHHHH BTW, it’s at http://www.golf1234.com. Cheers!

Hi, I have a fan of yours for about 3 years. I just wanted to say that you are a great person and you deserve the absolute best out of life because you sure work for it. TV is a merciless media and the hours you put in must be taxing. I hope that all the nonsense the tabloids are printing aren’t to awful for you. Really I just wanted to thank you for being such a creative cook and also ask you if it is true in the tabloids about your marraige. I really hope not because you two deserve happiness from what you two do for everybody else, not grief. COngratulations on everything you have accomplished.

Hi!
My name is Eva Glimmerdahl and right now I´m on maternity leave ´cause I have two sons, Oliwer 15 months old and Oscar 4 months old.
Apart from being a mom a big part of my life is involved in dog training!
At home I have a dog who I compete with, Obedience, he is a Swedish Obedience Champion and I have worked with and helped other people with their dogs for almost 10 years now!
(Have been traing dogs for myself for almost 15 years)
Everything from learning the dog how to behave in everyday life to a specific talent, like if you want to enter competitions with your dog!
Also been involved in working with rescued dogs, dogs that have been beaten and abused and helped them get a normal life!
(My friends and family calls me the swedish female version of Cesar Milan :))
I love your show and we watch it all the time and I have a dream of going to the States so I figured, I could at least send you an email, since life is to short not to follow your dreams!
With this message I would like to ask you to consider me if you ever consider having a dogtrainer on the show!
Please get back to me, e-mail contact works very well for me! :=)
Keep up the good work and I hope to hear from you!
Best Regards, Eva Glimmerdahl, Sweden

What we have to do is dress like the person we are doing a presentation on.When we do it we have to use props so i’mgoing to use a cardboard stove and pretend to make the meal you sent to space.

Hey Rachel. Got a quick question for you. I know you’ve just come out with at least one, if not more cookbooks recently, and I was wondering, would you consider the idea of creating a cookbook aimed at the college crowd? The reason I ask, I’m a junior in college, starting get my own ground with my own apartment (and my own bills to boot), but my cooking skills are still minimal. I want to cook more, but time is never on my side and I don’t want to dive into anything to fancy to start out. I think a cookbook aimed and just quick, on-the-go meals or very simple dinner recipes could really help people like me out! What do you think?
ps - I haven’t looked at the just in time cookbook yet, but that might have some things to help out in this area I suppose, seeing as time and inexperience are my two disadvantages

Hi Rach,
My son is highly allergic to eggs and milk and it is very hard to feed him, right now it is mainly hot dogs and oatmeal. He is a year old and it is so hard to change everything for him so do you have any meals that have neither in it that i could also feed the rest of my family (a 3yr. old and my husband)? Thank you this would be a huge help!!
05.23.08 @ 9:29 am
Hi Rachel,
My daughter & I love your show, personality and your wonderful cooking recipes. We had a sort of suggestion/request of you. You’re so smart we thought maybe you could develop a way on your website for fans/readers to enter five (or reasonable number) ingredients/food that they have in their frig or pantry and your website would match them to one of your great easy recipes! Hope you think this is a great idea and maybe one day we’ll be able to see it materialize!!!! You are terrific.

Hi Rachael,
I’m a 30yr old mother of 2 very picky boys. You saved my first Thanksgiving cooking for them with your turkey tips, and I thank you from the bottom of my heart. I’ve been in need of cook books and cooking supplies for years. I’ve recently lost my job and not able to purchase anything for my small 2 bedroom apartment kitchen. All of my kitchen ware is second hand that should have been thrown out years ago. Please Rach if you can help me in anyway I would really appreciate it. My boyfriend does everything he can, but he can’t afford to buy cooking supplies. I thank you for your time.
Love,
Jamie
