I stumbled upon this patisserie after walking past it a few times and finally deciding I had to go in to see if it was authentic. It’s a tiny place, although they are going to be expanding the back of the house soon and will then be able to serve lunch etc. Right now it is mainly a glass counter bakery that specializes in French desserts. They have beautiful fruit tartines and of course madeleines, but what impressed me the most were the rows and rows of brightly colored and perfectly formed macarons. If you don’t know what these are, they look like little hamburgers, but they are sweet. The “bun” is some kind of light cake with a thin crust to it and the fillings vary. I took home a sample box and was overwhelmed by how good these were. We tried bright red strawberry with cranberry filling, deep lilac colored cassis, orange with chocolate filling, vanilla, cinnamon-raisin, and key lime with coconut filling. Each one was luscious and different.
