When my kids were young, I used tights, and leotards
(even though they were boys) for their costumes.
One year, I took a black set, added on, iron on tape, shaped like bones, and made him a skeleton. Another year, use blue ones, red material, superman underwear, and a wash cloth that had the "S" on it
and had Superman. I even took felt to make red boots.
Unfortunately, they are all grown up, and live too far, away to dress up the grandkids.

One year my son trick or treated as static cling. He wore a black sweatsuit, black hat, and we pinned socks, underwear, pantyhose, slips, hankies, and even a bra across his back. He said he had fun making the costume and everyone's house he went to got a big laugh out of it. But my point is that it was all stuff we already had in our home, and with the economy today it was a cost free costume.

I loved the "Super Duper Last Minute Costumes". Esp the Leaf Blower and the Air Craft Carrier. The Quarter Pounder was great too but you could also pin a slice of cheese to your shirt and be a Quarter pounder with cheese. Another twist to a box of cereal is to add a knife stuck in the box and be a Cereal Killer. All of these costumes were great, Thanks Evette. I think I'll have my husband be the Snack Bar. Everyone have a great Holloween, Veronica
