Mom of Picky Eater

Savory Peanut Butter dishes

Picky eaters everywhere love peanut butter.  Heck, people everywhere love peanut butter.  And since it is high in protein and the good fats, you can feel good about giving it to your child, unless of course they have allergies to nuts.  If they do like peanut butter, try almond and cashew butters too, just to mix things up.

Personally, I am a salty fan, more than a sweets person, so I prefer peanut butter when used in savory dishes like Thai food.  My children also seem to like savory peanut dishes like Sweet and Spicy Sesame Noodles with Shredded Jerk Chicken (pictured above).  So if you want to try new dishes with your peanut butter loving picky eater, try some of these Rachael Ray savory recipes:

Chicken Satay Salad Sammies

Crunchy Monkey Peanut Butter Banana Sticks (kind of on the sweet side)

Brazilian Vatapa

Chicken Satay Noodle Salad (pictured below)

Thai Chicken Pizza

Elsa’s Chicken Curry

Thai Chicken Wraps with Spicy Peanut Sauce

Raisin-Walnut Spread (for toast or bagels)

Pumpkin-Peanut Curry Noodles with Five-Spice Seared Scallops and Shrimp

Oatmeal with Bananas and Peanut Butter (pictured below)

Peanut, Orange and Carrot Salad

Chicken and Broccoli Peanut Noodles with Cucumber Carrot Salad

Cold Ginger, Soy and Sesame Noodles

Fruit Benedicts and Egg Scrambles

Sorry, I would love these recipes! But my picky eater also hates peanut butter. He would not touch any of these. Got any ideas cheese and crackers. Oh yah, he is 13!

Karin, maybe your picky eater would eat almond or cashew butter?
    Different taste completely and oh-so-good!
