A 3 year old I volunteer with asked me if I could take him Christmas shopping to buy his mom a present. He picked out a really nice candle and went to the check-out with his piggy bank saving in tow. The cashier told him that the candle was half price (which I am sure made little sense to him) but then carefully explained that he could buy something else. So he got a second candle. We went to his house and wrapped them seperately and he hid them under his bed. When I went over after Christmas he brought me to his room to show me his new toys and then remembered something. He then crawled under the bed and presented me with a wrapped up candle! It was too cute! I cried, and so did his mom. It was priceless.

Isn't it amazing when after fussing and arguing (not all the time) they can suddenly be so sweet and thoughtful of each other. Those moments make being a parent worth all the everyday craziness!

This kind of goes with memory categories, I watch Rachel all the time, she is my Tivo goddess! She always tells you when you make pasta dishes to SEASON the pasta! One trick I have found when making spahgetti is the tomato sauce/mushrooms/olives I use instead of draining that juice into the "garbage bowl" I add it to the pasta water along with some garlic. My Kids love it and my grand-daughter even eats the pasta plain! Its a Favorite holiday staple with us!
