What’s better than LA during the Grammy’s?! And while I was out there I had the fortunate pleasure of doing Fergie’s hair for the Vanity Fair party. Definitely a new look for her! It was very 1940’s inspired, tousled with loose curls and pulled up in the back. Needless to say, Fergie looked stunning and with her versatility this sophisticated look was a hit. Here is how to achieve it…
Step 1) Spray hair with Cutler’s Protectant Treatment Spray to protect hair from heat damage, followed by a blast of Cutler’s Volumizing Spray.
Step 2) Spray each section of hair with a bit of hairspray (I used Redken Workforce 09) before wrapping around a 1/2 inch curling iron to create spirals.
Step 3) Create a side part and over-direct hair so that the hair sits flatter at the front, brushing the top layer of hair out and away from the head to create an airy texture.
Step 4) Pull hair back to one side, twisting slightly into a loose knot and secure with hairpins.
Step 5) Carefully slip a hairband with an embelished accessory in about two inches back from the hairline.
Step 6) Finish with more hairspray for a long-lasting touchable hold.
