Mutt Madness technical issues resolved

Thank you for visiting Mutt Madness. We had a rough start to this first week due to many technical difficulties people were having with the site.  Due to these problems, we will extend the program by one week, meaning this first week will not end on Monday night as originally planned but will end on Sunday, October 25th at midnight.  On October 26th, the candidates that will move into round two will be displayed on the site.  This extra 6 days will candidates more time to get  friends and families in to vote and get comfortable with the blogs.  Here’s an update on the technical issues:

Registration: You do need to register anew with rachaelray.com to vote.  Previously you would register and then still need to login to vote.  People were confused in thinking it would automatically log them in and wondered why they were still seeing the Login to vote button.  We have changed this so immediately following registration, you are logged in.

Buttons: Some could not see the Submit button on the registration and Voting Booth pages.  This should be fixed.

Voting: When you go to vote for a bracket, you will notice a small pop up that shows more information about the organizations.  Then you can click into either of the orgs to learn more. You need to close this window and go back to the original page with the Voting Booth to place your vote. This may seem confusing to some so we are trying to make this process smoother.

If there are any other problems, please do not hesitate to post your comments here.  Thank you for your patience and good luck!

  1. We are a contestant in March Madness, but we don’t have a blurb, just a link to our profile. Is it too late to add one?

Rachel, I’m sending you this about the acai berry and xr cleanse product that you mentioned. You can get a free bottle of both and only pay for shipping. I just received a email about scams concerning these products that we will be billed the full price without out consent. I would like for you to look into and assure is that is not what is going to happen.

  3. Just want to say Thanks to Rachael for this opportunity and PLEASE vote for Amazing Aussies! While everyone nominated is certainly worthy for their efforts, Amazing Aussies is different in that the blindness and/or deafness of the dogs we rescue is KNOWN BY THE BREEDERS in advance to a mathematical certainty (averages about 25% of each litter)so they plan ahead to throw away or destroy those that are born white, which indicates a high propensity for the disability. In this way they can keep the highly prized “Merle” colored dogs, and dump what they can’t sell. Please help us eliminate this cruel and evil breeding practice!

Hi, I was able to vote successfully, and wanted to share a couple of thoughts.
One, you can’t just vote for your favorite shelter and leave the other brackets blank. I know everyone has their favorite, but please, be sure to look carefully at each contestant and make a thoughtful vote.

Two, you can only vote once a week, I see some folks are trying to vote every day. You can’t vote again until the next round of competition.

Three, if, after you log in, you still see the “login to participate button”, don’t bother voting, because the login didn’t work. Make sure you close the pop-up window with the two contending organizations before going back to the bracket page.

    Hope this helps…

I just logged in to vote in the second round, and the votes have already been checked in the second bracket on the page I get, and I cannot uncheck them. I have NOT voted for anyone yet in the second round, so there should not be any check marks.

  8. Can’t log in or create a new log in so that I can vote in the second round. Help!

I’m trying to login and vote but I just keep getting the splash screen telling me to login to place my vote. I’m registered, and I get the “Login successful! Take me back.” message but when it takes me back and I click to vote, I end up in this endless loop of the splash screen again telling me that I need to login.

I want to be sure my favorite rescue gets my vote…Help!

  10. Thank you to everyone who voted for Amazing Aussies. We hope that in the two rounds we were fortunate enough to participate in that we brought awareness to blind/deaf pets and all that they can achieve. Good luck to those remaining rescues. Please consider donating to Amazing Aussies at http://www.amazingaussies.com. Our dogs aren’t called “amazing” for nothing! Remember: disabled does not mean disposable.

For those of you who may be concerned about the homeless population and their pets, here is an organization in Portland, Oregon that has developed a solution for those pets. The Soup Kitchens and Food Banks feed the people, but little has been done to provide food for the pets. “HATS OFF” to this organization for thinking outside the box!!!!!

I am registered, but can’t vote. I keep getting “login successful, go back” but am constantly told to log in. I cannot vote. Even tried entering that area a different way, and got the same results.

Apparently this isn’t fixed yet. I hope it’s fixed in time for me to get my vote in. Thank you.
