Quick and Easy Chips

Recently I was working on a web shoot with iCarly star, Reed Alexander (wait til you see these videos, they are so fun!) and while horsing around in the kitchen, we made homeade tortilla chips.  They were so easy, light and delicious that I had to share the recipe!

We cut regular tortillas into triangles, spread them on a cooking sheet and drizzled a little EVOO on top.  We then sprinkled with salt and stuck in the oven at 375 for about 8 minutes or until crispy.  What we learned is that less is more-you really do not need much EVOO for these to taste good, in fact too much can make them soggy.  You can even skip the EVOO if you want, as they probably have some kind of oil inside the tortilla and since you are not deep frying them, you don’t need any additional.

However, you do need a little sprinkle of salt, or to make a sweet version, you can sprinkle cinnamon sugar on top for a quick snack that needs no dip.

It’s fun, it’s quick, it’s easy, it’s homeade, and kids can do it too!  Nothing like fresh from the oven goodness.

    way to go! always looking for great ideas. my husband and i are on none to low sodium diets. it’s so hard to find chips that we can eat. this is a Quick and easy way. i omit the salt at the end of your recipe and we both can enjoy them.. thanks so much for such a simple idea!

    I have done this and they taste great! You can also do this with pitas. Just cut the pitas into triangles, separating the pieces into singles. Bakes until light brown, watching so they don’t burn. Much better for you than the fried ones and
    i think they taste better. Much lighter.

    I use the spray olive oil in a can. That way I don’t over oil them.

    Also good sprinkled with a little paprika and red cayenne for a spicy kick.
