What about some recognition of all those small no-kill facilities who pull from municipal shelters and save countless number of lives each year. They are always always struggling and yet they wouldn’t be eligible as their #’s saved would not need to go up–they already save however many they can afford!

@Robin Young…do u eat veal? Do u eat any kind of meat? I think your comment to Rachael about veal is very rude. There are hundreds of cooking shows on television, and the majority of them have meat recipes. Do you target them also? If your a vegan or a vegetarian, I think you should stick to those type of shows and stop forcing your beliefs on the rest of us and stop saying Rachael isn’t an animal lover because of veal recipes…Thats just stupid….Just saying…

AS A FOOD INDUSTRY ICON, I’M SURE YOU ARE AWARE OF THE CRUEL TREATMENT RECEIVED BY VEAL CALVES. THEY ARE CRATED SO STRICTLY THAT THEY LITERALLY CANNOT MOVE, THEIR MUSCLES AND BONE WASTES AWAY AND THEY GO SLOWLY INSANE IN THOSE CRATES WAITING FOR THEIR EARLY DEATHS. My son in law and his Mom has been rescuing Pit Bulls for a few years now. It has become more than a full time job for them. They have one that is going to be put down if his medical attention he needs can not be met. This poor baby needs help, any advice would be much appreciated.
