I have to admit I am not typically a huge fan of nuts in desserts (at all) but these pecan bars are irresistible. One bar is basically a pecan pie in a single serving, plus there is a slight citrus undertone, which cuts the sweetness. Sounds odd but it works. This recipe makes an enormous number of bars – a whole sheet-pan – so bring to a huge party or plan to give away to friends. They keep wrapped well in the fridge for up to a week (!) – another bonus.tags: desserts cookies rice, grains and breads bake more
These bar cookies not only feature malted milk balls and chocolate chips, but they call for malted milk powder (available next to the hot chocolate mix in most grocery stores), which provides extra lightness. I was so pleased with the result that I made them twice in one weekend!

With just six ingredients, these raspberry bars are super easy and very tasty. They have a shortbread-like crust, with raspberry preserves in the middle topped by a crumb topping. The dough has ground toasted hazelnuts in it for a real depth of flavor.tags: desserts snacks cookies fruit bake more
These brownies may sound a little wrong but they taste so right. Home made brownies with chocolate chips topped with a layer of peanut butter cookie "dough" topped with a layer of chocolate ganache to take you to the finish line. Recipe adapted from The Food Network.tags: desserts cookies bake more
I love fall, the season of pumpkin. I made these Pumpkin Chocolate Cheesecake Bars with a chocolate cookie crust and a swirl of chocolate for a party this weekend and they couldn't be easier, or more delicious. They are rich, needless to say – you could get 32 small squares from this 8-inch x 8-inch pan. This is great make ahead dessert – cool and refrigerate for up to two days prior to serving.tags: desserts cookies cheese bake food processor or blender more
Who says crisped rice treats are just for kids? I made these treats with a chocolate-peanut butter topping today – cut small and served on a tray, they would be appropriate for any grown-up gathering.tags: desserts snacks lunch box cookies rice, grains and breads no-cook more
These brownies take me back to my favorite combination: chocolate and peanut butter. The peanut butter is swirled right in to the brownie; fudgy and dense, these are delicious served straight from the fridge.tags: desserts lunch box cookies rice, grains and breads bake more
