Low Fat Pie Double Crust
When I met my boyfriend long ago, he would tell tales about his mother's amazing chicken pot pie. Determined to be a better chef, I attempted my own chicken pot by, following recipes that I found online. Well – surprise, surprise – my chicken pot pie was a disaster of epic proportions. So, I swallowed my pride and asked for his mother's help. She told me that my filling was great, but that the crust was all wrong. Her mother-in-law had taught her this low fat easy crust that tasted great with any type of pie. It tastes delicious, and you will be amazed how easy it is to prepare!
Low Fat Double Pie Crust
Ingredients
- 2 cups flour
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/2 cup canola oil
- Waxed paper
Preparation
In a bowl, combine the flour with the milk and oil. Mix lightly, until the dough becomes stiff. Split the dough in half.
Wet down a counter top and place a sheet of waxed paper down on it. Place half of the dough on the waxed paper, followed by another layer of waxed paper on top. Roll the dough out with rolling pin and place it into a pie tin. Put your filling in, then repeat the above steps with the other half of the dough and place the top crust over your filling. Yes, it's that easy!
