Mom Q&A
My kids are super picky eaters, but all three love yogurt, especially the baby. They drink milk with dinner too, and the baby gets 4 sippy cups a day of milk.
There are so many fortified cereals to pick from today, and pastas too.
I have 3 kiddos: Jackson is 10, Lulu is 3.5 and Ella-Ross is 17 months old.
Luckily, all of my kids are really good sleepers.... bad eaters, but good sleepers! They all go down at different times. Ella Ross goes down at 7:30pm, followed by Lulu at around 8pm and finally Jackson goes to bed around 9pm on school nights, 10pm on the weekends. They are all pretty good about going down. The baby always goes right down, Lulu requires a book read to her and then I scratch her back. Jackson also requires a back scratch, then off to dream land!
With my 3.5 year old, it's dealing with all the whining and screaming and crying if she doesn't get what she wants. She's my most high maintenance child, but we're hoping it's a stage! :) With Jackson, it's following directions... put your clothes in the dirty clothes basket instead of the floor, hang your towel up instead of leaving it on the floor after your shower, leave your sister alone!!! :) With Ella Ross, my biggest challenge is getting her to eat healthy foods. Scratch that, it's getting her to eat food period! She is my pickiest eater of the three... everything gets thrown on the floor.
I sometimes feel like a short order cook. But, I do what I have to do to get them to eat anything! I did just purchase this awesome new blender called a Vitamix 5200. We make lots of smoothies now and the older two kids love them... at least I know they're getting some sort of vitamins and nutrients from all the fruit.
I stock up on everyday items when they are buy one, get one free.
I don't work, but when I travel with my husband, I text constantly with the kids' caretaker. Also, Jackson and I instant message each other when I'm away. I don't usually talk on the phone with them because it sometimes makes them sad and it always makes me miss them even more, so I get sad too.
Bake, wrap presents together at Christmas, spend lots of time outdoors.
After the kids go to bed, I like to read or have dinner with my husband and talk about how crazy having 3 kids is!!!!!
A very, very busy calendar!! And a really, really big car!!
We had my in-laws over for dinner last night and we grilled out pork tenderloin, with pasta salad and spinach pie. The kids ate before us because we ate late. They had mac-n-cheese, turkey, cheese and crackers and yogurt.
Mornings. The kids are so sweet and smell so yummy in the morning. It's my favorite time of the day.
Too many to share!!!! I think we all have crazy moments day-to-day. The more kids you have, the more funny stories you have! It always seems like things tend to go wrong whenever we are in a hurry. Just the other day, we were heading to a dance recital to see one of our friends perform. She was going to go on at any minute and Lulu fell on the sidewalk and scraped her knee... she started screaming bloody murder as soon as she saw the blood. Needless to say, we missed our friend perform. After that, Jackson said to me, "Something like that always happens when we are in a hurry. Like the wheel will fall off the stroller or something." I could only agree with him!
Pasta with meatballs! All 3 of my kids will eat this. With lots of parm cheese!
Usually yogurt, a piece of fruit, a peanut butter sandwich, a juice box, and chips.
For some reason, my mom always gave me orange sherbet when I was sick as a child. I now give my kids the same thing. And ginger ale and saltines.
Mom Tips!
"Limit TV time to one hour a day – kids need to get outside and soak up the sun – it's a great source of vitamin D"
