Fashion That Gives Back
Welcome to our newest site feature, Fashion That Gives Back, where Rachael Ray's wardrobe stylist, Jane Harrison-Fox tells us all about a very special outfit Rachael has worn to a public event. The outfit is available for auction through our friends at charityfolks.com, and the proceeds go to Rachael's non profit organization, Yum-o! Read how you can get Rach's look at an afforable price, while helping a good cause at the same time-now that's a reason to shop!
"This Missoni dress is one of my favorite red carpet looks for Rachael. I purchased it at Saks Fifth Avenue last spring for Mario Batali's Foodbank event. Rachael really wanted the dress to have a lot of pizzazz because the event was including a lot of "A-Listers". It had to be something special and boy did this dress deliver! The dress is a classic Missoni knit that is perfect for day or night.
It screams for a curvy gal size 42 (Italy) or 6-8 (US). You can see from the picture how it compliments Rachael's figure. The plunging V neckline accentuated her bust and the roushing at the waist showed off her hourglass figure. We knew it was a knockout the moment she tried it on. I had some great pendant necklaces but in the end we went with the amber beads so we could cover a little more skin. These also picked up the golden threads and contrasted nicely with the turquoise and pewter.
This dress is less than a year old. We are retiring it after only several hours of wear because it attracted so much press. OK magazine, Star Magazine and even Perez Hilton!
This is such a classic piece and is still really current for Spring 2009."

Jane's Wardrobe Style Tips:
- Wear a tan! Since there will be a lot of exposed skin, make sure you glow! You will need a self tanner. Rachael loves Jergen's Natural Glow for her face. Jergen's makes a 7-day or an accelerated version. It is affordable and forgiving and when used correctly your hands won’t turn orange.
- Ban the bra. This dress is best worn without a bra. Clearly you don’t want to be completely bare, so I would recommend Boob-eez. They give you great coverage and are ideal for fancy dresses like this where you don't want to wear a bra but also don't want to feel too exposed. They can be purchased on line at www.boob-eez.com.
Rodney Cutler's Haircare Tips:
Annoying as it is trying to find the perfect part it’s worth the effort. As it can definitely have an influence on your end result, whether it be dramatic or just plain unflattering. I generally suggest sticking with your natural part. The best way to find it is, while your hair is wet, comb it straight back and then use the palm of your hand at the back of your head and push forward. The natural part will reveal itself.
