Potato Kugel

Cafe Osher is the only kosher restaurant in the state of Wisconsin!  They are known for their 1/2 pound hamburger with pastrami dipped in bbq sauce-wowza!  Here the chef and owner, Sharon Siegel Langer, shares her holiday Potato Kugel recipe with us.

Ingredients

  • 1/3 cup vegetable oil plus 2 tablespoons
  • 1 package of shredded potatoes
  • 1 large onion, diced
  • 3 eggs, lightly beaten
  • 1/3 cup flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper

Preparation

Preheat oven to 350.  Heat 2 tablespoons oil in large frying pan and add onions.  Cook over medium heat until translucent.  Remove from heat and set aside.  In large bowl mix together potatoes, onion and oil.  Add eggs, salt and pepper.  Mix well and add flour.  Pour into well greased 9x9 inch pan and bake 45-55 minutes until golden brown.
