Ingredients
For the crust:
- 2/3 cup confectioners' sugar
- 2 cups flour
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 2 sticks butter, softened
For the topping:
- 2/3 cup melted butter
- 1/2 cup honey
- 3 tablespoons heavy cream
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 3 1/2 cups pecans, coarsely chopped
Makes 24 bars
Preparation
Pre-heat the oven to 350°F. Grease a 9-inch x 12-inch baking pan.
Sift the confectioners' sugar, salt and flour together. Cut in the two sticks of softened butter, using two knives or a pastry blender, until fine crumbs form. Pat the crust evenly into the prepared baking pan. Bake for 20 minutes; remove from the oven.
Mix the melted butter, honey, cream and brown sugar together. Stir in the pecans, coating them thoroughly. Spread over the crust. Return to the oven and bake for 25 minutes more.
Cool before cutting into squares.
