Hello Dollies(Seven Layer Cookie Bars)
Plan B Mom shares, “Whenever our school had bake sales my friend’s mom would send in Hello Dollies, also known as Seven Layer Cookie Bars, and I fell in love. I never knew what was in them, but they were out of this world.
When I got a little older and started baking, I began making them and was amazed to find out they are pretty much the easiest cookie to make on the planet. Bring them to your next get-together and you are assured an easy Wow!”
- 1/2 cup butter (1 stick)
- 1 1/2 cups graham cracker crumbs
- 1 can sweetened condensed milk (14 ounces), located in the baking aisle at the market – look carefully at the label to be sure you don’t buy unsweetened or evaporated milk
- 1 cup chocolate chips
- 1 cup peanut butter chips
- 1 1/3 cups sweetened shredded coconut
- 1 cup chopped walnuts
Pre-heat the oven to 350°F.
Line a 9-inch x 13-inch pan with foil and spray with cooking spray. Melt the butter in the microwave and pour into the pan so that the pan’s bottom is evenly coated. Sprinkle the graham cracker crumbs evenly over the butter and press down lightly with your fingers so that the crust is even. Pour the condensed milk over the graham cracker crust. Then layer, in order, the chocolate chips, peanut butter chips, coconut and walnuts. Press the layers down firmly all over with a the back of a fork.
Bake for 25-30 minutes until lightly browned and firm. Let cool, then lift the foil out of the pan and cut into bars.
