Kilbasa with Apples and Pearl Onions
This recipe was sent to rachaelray.com visitor, Michelle Crosby. She tells us that, “This fast and easy recipe is great for a quick meal and goes with anything. My family likes it with homemade mac and cheese. I prefer to use fresh pearl onions, but canned or frozen can be used.”
- 3-4 sweet firm apples
- 1 package kielbasa, cut into one inch pieces
- 1 package or jar of pearl onions.
- 2-3 tablespoons butter
- about 2 passes of EVOO.
Pre-heat skillet over medium high heat.
Melt butter and EVOO. Add the pearl onions and let them saute’ until they are just about golden brown.
Meanwhile cut and core the apples, but do not peel.
After the onions have browned, add the apples and let them saute’ for just a few minutes.
Add the kielbasa. Cover and saute’ until the kielbasa plump, about 15-20 minutes.
Add pepper to taste. Little salt is needed.
Serve and eat hot. Enjoy!
