“This cookie was one of my favorites as a little girl. My grandma and mother made these all the time around the holidays. Enjoy! “
- 1 cup shortening (butter flavored preferred by me)
- 1 cup white sugar
- 1 cup packed brown sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1 cup peanut butter
- 2 cups flour
- 2 teaspoons baking soda
- 1 teaspoons salt
Pre-heat oven to 350°F.
Cream together the shortening, brown and white sugars until smooth; add eggs and vanilla and fully combine.
Stir in the peanut butter. Add flour, baking soda, and salt. Mix thoroughly but don’t overmix.
Roll into walnut-sized balls and press flat with tines of fork to make a pretty design.
Bake for about 10-12 minutes or until fork comes clean.
