How do you peel a hardboiled egg?

Dear Rachael,

I make alot of hard boiled eggs. We use them as a snack food, and my grand-boys love them. One problem. I boil them, and the shell does not come off easy. I loose most of the white of the egg. I do not keep the yoke. Help!

Grace, first of all, make sure it is all the way cooked. Then, take the egg and lightly whack it (but not too hard) on the kitchen counter, just until it begins to crack. Then roll it back and forth over the counter so the shell cracks and crumbles all over. Then you should be able to easily peel it off.
