How do you keep apples from browning?

After you slice apples or bananas, whether it be for fruit salad or to throw into a pie or just to put out on the table, squeeze some lemon juice all over the sliced fruit and gently toss.  This will not only keep the fruit from browning, but also add a nice, zesty flavor!  This works for artichokes too, when you cut off the tops and are getting ready to steam them.
