What to Do With Your Stale Bread

You’ve probably been here a time or two: Your once fresh, soft loaf of bread begins to stiffen and dry. Your first thought is to probably toss it in the garbage. It’s useless now and taking up too much space in your pantry. But not so fast! We’ve got a solution (or 9) for you.

Stale bread is a kitchen workhorse. You’d be surprised at the number of recipes that call for that “bad” bread. For example, you’ll often hear Rachael suggest saving bread heels in the freezer for homemade bread crumbs – also awesome because it saves you a trip to the supermarket!

But breadcrumbs aren’t the only tasty way you whip up kitchen magic with an ingredient that’s past its prime. From primo panzanella to meaty meatballs and savory stratas, read on to try and taste some of our favorite ways to forgo bread waste and make something delicious!
