Italian Cream Cheese Cookies

This recipe was sent to from visitor, Nancy Richmyer. She says:

“These cookies are really great! Very addictive!!! The almond gives it a really great taste!”


  • 1 8-ounce package cream cheese
  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 1 1/2 cup vegetable shortening, such as Crisco brand
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 tablespoon almond extract
  • 3 cups flour
  • 1 cup chopped walnuts
  • 2 cups chocolate chips


Pre-heat oven to 350°F.

The secret to this cookie is to add the first 4 ingredients and mix to a creamy texture, but not too creamy.  Do not overmix.

Add the flour and chips and nuts and stir to combine.

Spoon on to cookie sheet and bake for 15-20 minutes and lightly brown or until bottom is lightly brown.
