Mashed Rutabagus with Bacon

” really simple holiday side dish that is a MUST in our family!
- 2 large rutabagas
- 1 pound bacon
Simply peel and cube rutabagas into 1-inch cubes and boil in a pot of water over medium-high heat with just a dash of salt.
While rutabagas are cooking, cut your bacon into 1-inch pieces and fry until very crisp, making sure you keep ALL of the grease in the pan with the bacon.
When rutabagas are done, drain and put into large bowl (or back in pot), then dump all of the bacon AND THE DRIPPINGS in with the rutabagas and mash with one of those squiggly hand mashers. YUMMO!!!!!
