Mashed Sweet-n-Bitter Potatoes

Serve with Traditional Supper Stuffing with Cider Gravy Recipe and Smoky Greens with Cranberries.


  • 2 pounds, 2-3 large, sweet potatoes, peeled and sliced or cubed
  • Salt
  • 1/2 cup chicken stock
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1/4 cup orange marmalade
  • Black pepper
  • A couple dashes hot sauce


Cover potatoes with water and bring to a boil. Salt water and cook potatoes 12-15 minutes until tender. Drain the potatoes. Return pot to the stove and warm broth over medium heat. Whisk in butter and marmalade. Add potatoes and mash the sweet potatoes. Season with salt and pepper and a few dashes hot sauce. Serve immediately.
