Spanish Tapas: Chapata
- 1 loaf crusty bread, split in half lengthwise
- 2-3 large cloves garlic, halved
- 2 small ripe tomatoes, halved
- Salt and pepper
- Extra virgin olive oil (EVOO), for liberal drizzling
Pre-heat the broiler.
Pop the bread under the broiler, cut side up, until it is golden brown and toasted. Rub the toasted bread with the cut garlic and the ripe tomatoes. Season with salt and pepper, cut into portions and drizzle with EVOO.
