Uncle Frank’s Pound Cake contributor Veda Carey has shared her Uncle Frank’s easy and delicious pound cake recipe with us!


  • 1 pound butter (4 sticks)
  • 1 pound confectioners’ sugar
  • 6 eggs
  • 2 1/2 cups cake flour, such as Swans Down brand
  • 1 teaspoon lemon extract
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract


Pre-heat the oven to 350°F.

Cream the butter and sugar, then add the eggs, one egg at a time. Add and beat in the cake flour, then add in the extracts.

Bake for 1 hour in a 9-inch x 5-inch loaf pan, until golden brown and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
