Bacon Fried Green Beans

These beans make a great side dish for any Cajun meal.


  • A drizzle of extra virgin olive oil (EVOO)
  • 6 slices bacon, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon coarse black pepper
  • 1 pound green beans, trimmed
  • 1/4 cup cider or red wine vinegar
  • 2 teaspoons sugar


In a skillet, heat a drizzle of EVOO over medium-high heat. When hot, add the bacon and pepper and cook the bacon until crisp, 5 minutes. Add the beans to the bacon and cook for about 3-5 minutes, tossing to combine.

Season with vinegar and sugar just prior to serving.
